HOUSE ON A MOUNTAIN
This mountain home was designed for a professional couple relocating to BC with their young family. Incredible 360˙ views of the surrounding mountains, weather extremes and the remoteness of the home drove the design. Detailed topographic information and key views were documented early in the project. Harsh winter weather and isolation called for a variety of spaces for year-round fulltime work and living to occur side by side. The house is comprised of glassy projections providing views and daylight from many different angles. The home features a home gym, art studio, theater and game room to fend off cabin fever in the long winter months. Concrete tile roofing and cement board siding, per HOA requirements, lend fire resistance to the remote residential community.
